Cryo Movie (308K): This video demonstrates the use of cryotherapy (freezing) to treat a small retinoblastoma tumor in the eye. The bright white color seen in the video is the ball of ice engulfing the tumor cells.

Transcleral Movie (228K): This video demonstrates the use of the diopexy probe to deliver laser hyperthermia to a tumor. The probe is placed over the tumor on the outside wall of the eye and the laser heat goes directly through the wall of the eye to the tumor, killing the tumor cells. The red light seen in the video helps guide the ophthalmologist so he/she knows that the heat is delivered directly to the tumor.

TTT Movie (424K): This video demonstrates the use of TTT (transpupillary thermotherapy) to treat a small tumor. TTT is a type of laser treatment in which heat is delivered directly to the tumor, killing the tumor cells directly. In this case, the laser travels through the anterior chamber of the eye, then through the vitreous cavity to reach the tumor. The red light seen in the video helps guide the ophthalmologist so that he/she knows that the heat is delivered to the correct location. The white color seen in the video is how the tumor appears as it is taking up the heat of the laser and the tumor cells are being destroyed.
